Overview

The WIN Extended Stay Visa is run by Dominica's tourism authorities; applications are checked for completeness, go through due-diligence screening and are approved or refused by the Minister for National Security and Home Affairs. The visa lets you carry out any work that can be done remotely, as long as your employer or clients are not registered in Dominica.

Applications are made online. After submission you receive an approval letter within 14 to 28 days; you then have 30 days to pay the visa fee (extendable by a further 30 days on request) and 90 days from approval to arrive. The WIN stamp is issued on arrival and is valid from that date for up to 18 months. You can also apply while already in Dominica: your current entry terms apply while the application is processed.

Editor's note — The US$100 application fee is non-refundable and paid when you apply; the visa fee (US$800 single, US$1,200 family) is due only after approval. In the first three months, WIN holders may import personal and work items free of import duty and VAT, paying only the customs service charge and environmental surcharge.
