Overview
@HOME in Curaçao covers three profiles: remote workers and digital nomads (six months, extendable by six), “hibernators” (up to six months) and investors (one to five years or indefinite). The remote-worker permit costs ANG 535 and is decided in about two weeks. Applications must be submitted while you are abroad, except for tourists who apply within their 90-day allowance.
Curaçao welcomes “visitors of all nationalities”, and holders “will not be required to pay Curaçao income tax”.
Editor's note — The FAQ lists no income figure. Expect to show a stable foreign job or business and proof of funds; guides quoting €2,600 a month are describing what applicants typically show, not a published rule.
Who is eligible
- Remote worker or digital nomad employed or self-employed outside Curaçao.
- Any nationality (Dutch nationals have their own rights).
- Government-issued passport, international travel insurance, and a return ticket matching the stay.
- Criminal-record certificate, proof of accommodation and proof of remote employment (appendices to the application).
- Application submitted from abroad (or within the 90-day tourist window if already in Curaçao).
Income & financial requirements
No published minimum; proof of foreign job/business.
About US$294, per application.
International travel insurance for the stay.
Equal to the length of stay.
The official FAQ requires proof of remote employment or business abroad and sufficient means, but does not set a minimum. Bank statements and an employer letter or client contracts are the usual evidence.
Costs & fees
- ANG 535 (± US$294) for the remote-worker permit; hibernators pay the same and investors ANG 635 for one year.
- International travel insurance and the return ticket.
- No family bundle: family members apply under the main applicant and pay their own fees.
Taxes
Programme participants are not required to pay Curaçao income tax. Curaçao is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands but has its own tax system; home-country obligations are unaffected.
